Imprisoned Author Retains TransMedia Group To Promote 'My Bizarre Times with Robert Durst'
BOCA RATON, Fla., Aug. 13, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- TransMedia Group said it was retained by an imprisoned author to promote his tell-all book about the "shocking experiences" that he says grew out of a relationship he had with infamous murder suspect Robert Durst.
The book is titled: "DURSTURBED! Sex and the Serial Killer: My Bizarre Times with Robert Durst." The author, using the pseudonym William Steel, is a repentant jewel and art thief who retained TransMedia while incarcerated and now resides at an undisclosed location for his safety as a protected potential witness.
"Our publicity will highlight a book ablaze with accounts the author describes in lurid detail that grew out of a relationship that began in 1982 after the two literally ran into each other outside a fast food joint in Manhattan," said TransMedia CEO Tom Madden.
"This was not long after the real estate scion's wife Kathie mysteriously vanished."
Our publicity will show what began as an angry confrontation evolved into a symbiotic relationship in which Steel said Durst tried to draw him into unseemly relationships with women, which he describes in shocking detail in his book written with Gary Greenberg.
Greenberg is an award-winning journalist whose career includes working for AMI as staff writer for Globe and senior editor for National Enquirer. Much of his work was true crime related.
The book is a chilling journey into the life of what Steel calls "America's wealthiest suspected serial killer" and according to Madden "it allegedly rips the lid off a host of stunning revelations."
Steel says Durst paid him for use of rooms in his family's Brooklyn house, where Durst allegedly brought women. Steel also provides intimate details surrounding a murder for which Durst is set to go on trial.
"We're ordering 'proofs' of the book, expected to be ready in September to send to such journalists as Nancy Grace and Judge Jeanine Pirro.
"Steel is using a pseudonym as he fears divulging his real name could result in his death, but we'll make him available for interviews," said Madden.
