Implementing Online Course Requirement Policies for High School Graduation
iNACOL announces October 10th Leadership webinar
WASHINGTON, Oct. 9, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The International Association for K-12 Online Learning (iNACOL) will host a webinar on Wednesday, October 10, sharing insights into the establishment and implementation of online course requirements for high school graduation.
"The number of states and school districts requiring their students to complete an online course towards high school graduation is growing by the year," said Susan Patrick, President and CEO of iNACOL. "Online courses prepare our students for an increasingly digital 21st century world where one in three college students takes an online course and lifelong learning is a necessity. Online courses are a lifeline for many schools to expand access to engaging courses within their current high school programs. This webinar will share the process of how one large school district designed and launched their graduation policy."
The October 10th webinar will explore the work of the Kenosha School District in Wisconsin and highlight the various components – from policy decisions to parent outreach and teacher professional development – to consider for successful integration into high school studies.
Speakers:
Daniel Tenuta, Assistant Superintendent of Secondary School Leadership, Kenosha Unified School District
Kris Keckler, Principal, Kenosha e-School
Amy Murin, Evergreen Education Group
The webinar will be held Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at 2:00 PM Eastern. For more information and to register, please visit: http://www.inacol.org/events/webinar/index.php
