Implant Sciences Expands its Non-Contact Sampling Innovation with Award of its 19th Patent
Intellectual Property to Enhance Implant Sciences' Unique Non-Contact Sampling and Integration Capability
WILMINGTON, Mass., July 29, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Implant Sciences Corporation (OTCQB:IMSC), a leading manufacturer of explosives trace detection (ETD) and drugs trace detection solutions for homeland security applications, today announced the award of its 19th patent. Titled "Trace Chemical Particle Release Nozzle" (Patent No. 9,067,219), this patent enhances Implant Sciences' non-contact sampling capability to allow for its integration and use in a wide range of high through-put screening deployment scenarios.
"The vortex, a miniature tornado, allows our system to harvest particles from different types of surfaces and items using air jets and/or aerosols, making it an ideal tool for next generation technologies in aviation checkpoint and other high volume screening applications," stated Dr. Said Boumsellek, Director of Advanced Technology Development for Implant Sciences.
"Implant Sciences' patented vortex sampling technology delivers capabilities that no other ETD manufacturer can," said Dr. Bill McGann, Implant Sciences' CEO. "This patent, yet again, demonstrates the exceptional technology team at Implant Sciences and our position as a leader in ETD technology and innovation."
