iMedicor Launches "Easier Than Pulling Teeth" Meaningful Use Compliance And Federal Incentive Funding Program For Participating Careington Dental Network Providers
Program Designed to Help Medicaid-Qualified Dentists Receive Up to $63,750
NANUET, N.Y., Jan. 8, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- iMedicor (OTCBB: VMCI) today announced the launch of "Easier Than Pulling Teeth" (ETPT), a program designed to assist providers within the Careington dental community – among the nation's largest - with adherence to Meaningful Use guidelines and receipt of up to $63,750 in Federal Electronic Health Record (EHR) incentive funding over six years.
ETPT will include three stages, beginning with guiding interested and qualifying Careington practitioners through the Federal EHR registration process, then helping them select a certified Dental EHR solution, and culminating with assisting the dentists in the final Meaningful Use attestation phase that results in the release of the Federal Incentive Funds.
Through this program, Careington and iMedicor plan to address and remedy the dental community's slow-to-adopt participation in the current Federally-directed effort to move healthcare to an electronic-based records system.
The ETPT launch will initially be offered to Careington providers in the Middle Atlantic States - New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Delaware – and then branch out to other regions of the country throughout 2013. According to iMedicor, those Careington practices with a minimum of 30% of their treated patients under Medicaid can qualify for incentive funds. Of the $63,750 in funding per dentist, payments are released each year, subject to meeting yearly qualifications, with an initial payment of $21,250 and five subsequent annual payments of $8,500.
For its services to Careington providers, iMedicor will receive an upfront consulting fee for each client practice and ongoing fees from participating providers during the six-year disbursement period.
iMedicor's Meaningful Use Consulting Services division was established in 2010 when the company signed an agreement to serve as a field agent with the New Jersey Health Information Technology Extension Center (NJ-HITEC), one of 63 federally-funded HITEC projects throughout the nation. iMedicor was recognized in July 2012 as the number one consulting agent in the NJ-HITEC project, which in turn became the number one HITEC project in the country. After helping hundreds of doctors through NJ-HITEC, iMedicor this year expanded its services to the dental community, assisting 20 of NJ-based Hamilton Dental Associates' 34 dentists with their adherence to Meaningful Use guidelines and receipt of Federal EHR Incentive Funds. Funding occurred in less than 10 weeks from the time of iMedicor's initial engagement with the dental group.
"Having such a strong partner like Careington, we are now positioned to reach out to so many dentists nationwide and let them benefit from iMedicor's wealth of experience in this area," said iMedicor CEO Fred Zolla. "The purpose of 'Easier Than Pulling Teeth' is to not just encourage dentists to comply with Meaningful Use standards and take advantage of the Federal incentive funding that is available to them, but also to help them understand and be successful with this somewhat complex process. iMedicor makes it easy for dentists to qualify, select a proper vendor and attest as required in order to receive their federal incentive funds and to be compliant with the Meaningful Use regulations. The iMedicor-Careington alliance will play a leading role in bringing dentists into the national digital healthcare conversation."
According to Greg Rudisill, Careington Senior VP, Strategic Partnerships, "Our alliance with iMedicor will simplify the process for our many dentists who qualify and bring a greater share of Federal EHR Incentive Funds into the dental community. We are pleased to be part of the first major healthcare program that addresses the needs of our dentists in such a straightforward and comprehensive manner."
