This award recognizes excellence in the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) field. Eligible finalists must demonstrate innovative process management solutions that solve a critical business requirement. Finalist solutions also must communicate a significant return on investment which could be quantified, adapted, and repeated. Both finalists and winners were announced at the AIIM Annual Awards Celebration on March 22, 2011, at The W Hotel in Washington, D.C.
Having identified opportunities for savings and enhancing operational efficiencies, MHS collaborated with IMC to automate manual processes in key areas of Accounts Payable and Legal Contracts Management. Notable benefits were greatly reduced time required to process invoices, greater accountability, improved accuracy, and compliance. The legal solution resulted in improved tracking and records management.
IMC, its partners, and key people at MHS, designed and implemented a high volume document capture system. Results included a state-of-the-art ECMS that eliminated 80% of manual processes resulting in improved efficiency and quality. Processing of invoices and review of contracts dispersed between five hospitals was now centralized, allowing fast, secure and transparent access to all AP and legal contracts data on-the-fly.
"Today's healthcare organizations need access to timely, reliable information to support a wide range of patient and business-related decisions. As electronic patient record-keeping picks up speed in healthcare, forward-thinking organizations will streamline their back-end business process such as Accounting, Legal, HR, etc. using similar frameworks that manage front-end customer information," stated Suresh V. Shenoy, Executive Vice President, IMC. "This collaboration with MHS helps complete the spectrum of health content management by optimizing integral business processes in support of vital contracts and accounting tasks."
