Holland has spent close to 50 years working in the healthcare system, including time in the private sector representing doctors and hospitals, followed by positions at several successful Fortune 500 companies where he was heavily involved in the purchasing of healthcare for employees, retirees, and dependents. Most recently, Holland held the position of Assistant Secretary for Administration at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), a government organization which enhances and protects the health and well-being of all Americans by providing for effective health and human services and fostering advances in medicine, public health, and social services, where he effectively served as the chief administrative officer of the department, responsible for the total leadership and management of a 3,500-person, $1.4 billion organization.
