ImagineNations Founder Rick Little Moderates Session at Skoll World Forum 2012
Agents of change from around the world gathered to address global challenges
OXFORD, England, April 2, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Rick Little, founder and president of ImagineNations Group, moderated "a conversation with young people" at the Skoll World Forum on Social Entrepreneurship, held at the University of Oxford this past weekend. The session marked one of the first times the Forum has featured young people as an integral part of its formal agenda.
The annual Skoll Forum is among the world's premiere gatherings of social entrepreneurs – innovators from more than 65 countries, who are at the forefront of finding solutions to some of the world's greatest challenges. The Forum's mission is to accelerate the impact of the world's leading social entrepreneurs by uniting them with essential partners in a collaborative pursuit of learning, leverage and large-scale social change.
More than 800 delegates selected from the social, finance, private and public sectors convened for three days in Oxford to engage in critical debates, dedicated networking events, self-organized sessions, small group workshops and compelling panel and plenary sessions at the Said School of Business.
Rick Little moderated a session filled to capacity, entitled "Young People – the New Superheroes Leading Social Innovation," bringing together remarkable young people who are making changes in their communities and countries. They shared their inspiring stories and challenged the audience to embrace them as partners and problem solvers, not as "problems to be solved." Panel participants included Bassem El-Hady and Dina el Mofty, both from Egypt; Kip Oebanda and Ailyn Capacite Bulfa, both from the Philippines; and Amlan Ganguly, Salim Shekh and Sikha Patra, all from India.
Immediately following the session, Little remarked: "Today was yet another reminder of the power, courage and wisdom of our young people. They are leaders in their own villages, cities and countries. They are inspiring thousands of other young people to pursue their dreams and to make a difference. Their stories are authentic, honest, hopeful and practical. I am thrilled the Forum created a platform for their voices and ideas to be heard today."
