Imagine Communications to Showcase Media Software and Video Infrastructure Innovations at SET Expo 2014
New solutions, technologies and vision to make regional debut at Latin America's largest industry event
SAO PAULO, July 31, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Imagine Communications, a market leader of media software and video infrastructure solutions serving the global broadcast, multichannel video programming distributor and enterprise markets, today announced that the company will demonstrate its end-to-end solutions portfolio at SET Expo 2014, the largest exhibition and conference for broadcast and electronic media professionals in Latin America. SET Expo 2014 will take place August 25-27 in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
The show marks the first major Latin American exhibition for Imagine Communications since its transformation from Harris Broadcast earlier this year.
Visitors to the Imagine Communications booth, number A07/B08, will see demonstrations of innovative solutions and experience first-hand how the company's new service-oriented, IP-based and software-defined frameworks fundamentally improve the way media companies monetize their media assets and manage their workflows.
"We are focused on aligning our vision, solutions portfolio and strategy with our customers' requirements as they make the transition to a future defined by IP, software, virtualization and TV Everywhere," said Nahuel Villegas, Vice President of Sales, Caribbean and Latin America at Imagine Communications. "Latin America is a strategic growth market for Imagine Communications, making SET Expo an ideal forum for showcasing our pillars of innovation that improve the growth, flexibility and profitability of our customers as they pursue opportunities across multiple distribution and multiscreen platforms."
Imagine Communications products, updates and technologies making their Latin American debut at SET Expo 2014 will include:
Software-Defined Networking: The MultiService SDN™ software-defined networking (SDN) framework simplifies the network architecture of media companies operating in hybrid environments of both baseband and IP workflows by enabling the video bit flow to be software-mapped, creating a fully virtualized network fabric for deploying advanced services.
Software-Defined Workflows: The Xenio™ workflow manager provides an agile software engine that enables broadcasters and MVPDs to design, deploy and manage extensible, customizable, software-defined workflows that can be quickly scaled and adapted to accelerate service velocity and simplify management.
TV Everywhere: SelenioFlex™ software-based transcoding and encoding solutions, powered by Xenio, provide flexible live and file-based media processing for applications ranging from production to multiscreen distribution, while the high-density SelenioNext™ adaptive bit rate (ABR) transcoder delivers up to 10 times the space and power efficiency of competing solutions.
Playout: The latest evolution of the Versio™ integrated playout system will be showcased, featuring expanded I/O, caption, subtitling, graphics and format capabilities. Deployable on-premises or in public and private cloud environments, Versio also supports hybrid SDI and IP workflows as a key component of the MultiService SDN framework. Meanwhile, new enhancements enable the integrated storage of a Nexio AMP® video server to be shared with up to three clients including additional Nexio AMP or Nexio Volt™ servers, editing systems and conforming engines, creating a cost-effective, entry-level shared storage system and efficient production workflows.
Signal Processing and Compression: The new dual-channel, 1RU Selenio X100™ processor features a unique architecture future-proofed for IP and UltraHD and easily integrates into the signal workflow of any broadcast environment. New modules for the Selenio™ MCP media convergence platform enable high-performance contribution encoding for live events via new JPEG2000 compression support and highly efficient satellite distribution via a dual-channel DVB-S/S2 demodulator. The compact Selenio™ MCP1 will also make its regional debut, bringing the rich capabilities of the MCP platform to a space-saving 1RU form factor.
Automated Content Management and Distribution: New enhancements to Imagine Communications ADCTM allowing it to operate on either generic IT hardware or in a virtualized environment. This strategic update significantly enhances automation scalability by increasing channel densities for reduced hardware footprints, and allows for an easy migration to IP infrastructures and distributed architectures. ADC also features new web based user interfaces that simplify system management.
These regional introductions will be shown alongside additional market-leading solutions including Platinum™ and Platinum IP3 routing systems; Landmark™ media software applications; the Selenio X50™ intelligent frame synchronizer/converter; and the Selenio 6800+™ signal processing platform.
