IMA Announces Record CMA Growth in 2015 Annual Report
MONTVALE, N.J., Jan. 14, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, in its 2015 Annual Report, IMA® (Institute of Management Accountants), the association of accountants and financial professionals in business, announced record growth in the face of marketplace consolidation, commoditization and competition. This year's theme, "Stronger Together," focused on four main areas – innovation, education, collaboration and leadership – and details the fiscal year from July 1, 2014 through June 30, 2015. According to the report, the CMA (Certified Management Accountant), widely recognized as the leading management credential in the world, reached new heights – breaking previous growth records with more than 3,500 new professionals earning the credential in 2015, the highest number in any fiscal year and a 17 percent increase over 2014. What's more, this year saw a 19 percent growth in overall CMA candidates.
Supported by a 10 percent growth in revenue in fiscal year 2015, IMA also expanded to 138 countries. There are a combined 300 professional and student chapters worldwide, including eight new chapters in India. As part of its mission to provide members with educational experiences and opportunities for service and involvement, IMA also provided more than 156,000 hours of continuing professional education.
