There are now seven illy caffè locations throughout the city of San Francisco.
illy Caffè stores offer coffee lovers an inspirational and immersive illy experience, featuring the brand's iconic imagery, world-renowned illy art collection cups and other visual elements: ideal environments to linger over coffee of unparalleled quality, purchased directly from farmers and prepared by expertly-trained baristas.
The 220 Montgomery St. location, within the historic Mills Building, is illy's largest to date in San Francisco, furnished with the company's signature red and white color palette, and accented with thoughtful modern design elements, such as chandeliers crafted from illy Art Collection cups that feature the work of Jeff Koons, James Rosenquist and other influential contemporary artists. The flagship store has communal seating areas for large groups and private ones for intimate conversation. A dedicated retail shop located within offers an array of products, such as illy espresso and drip coffee machines, limited edition illy Art Collection cups, and illy's 100% Arabica blend and single origin line, suited to a range of preparation styles. A selection of products from companies with Gruppo Illy, the Illy family's holding company, include ultra-premium Domori Criollo chocolates and Dammann Frères Teas.
The second café at 90 New Montgomery Street is conveniently situated near the Academy of Arts, SFMOMA and other major cultural institutes just south of Market Street.
illy caffè coffee bars offer an Italian café experience driven by baristas, rigorously trained by the company's renowned University of Coffee faculty, led in the US by Master Barista Giorgio Milos. The training spans expert coffee preparation, from traditional espresso, latte and cappuccino, to brewed coffee and original specialty drinks featuring botanicals such as the illy Lavender Mint Latte. illy's single origin coffees are available for espresso and pour over methods, and in a variety of cold preparations including air-infused cold brew.
Coffee offerings are enhanced by a wide menu of chef-made sweet and savory selections, prepared daily for enjoyment on the premises, to go and for convenient catering to local businesses. To name a few: freshly-made soups and salads; paninos, sandwiches and wraps; desserts, including classic Italian bomboloni and the illymisu, a mouth-watering tiramisu made with a shot of illy espresso.
