Illinois State Rifle Association Announces 14th Annual Rifle Range Open House

CHATSWORTH, Ill., June 13, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The following was released today by the Illinois State Rifle Association (ISRA):

The ISRA is pleased to announce that the 14^th Annual "NRA Day at the ISRA Range" will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2016.  Partially sponsored by the National Rifle Association, the event is essentially an open house where the general public may experience firsthand what a world-class shooting facility has to offer.  The day's activities kick off at 10:00 AM and end promptly at 4:00 PM. 

The 2016 edition of the open house offers the familiar lineup of shooting events, safety education, and the opportunity for attendees to hobnob with like-minded individuals.  By far, the most popular feature of the day occurs over on the firing lines where qualified visitors may test firearms offered by many of the major manufacturers.

As always, safety is a top concern at the open house event.  All persons attending the event are required to receive a safety briefing from trained ISRA staff members.  Additionally, all live-fire activities are closely supervised by ISRA Range Officers.  Persons prohibited by law from owning firearms are not allowed to participate in live-fire events.  Personal firearms and ammunition are not permitted to be fired during the open house event.

The open house is open to the public free of charge.  A nominal fee for ammunition will be charged to those wishing to test-fire demonstration firearms.  On-site parking is free.  Food and refreshments will be available.

The 2016 NRA Day at the ISRA Range will take place at the ISRA's range located near Bonfield, Illinois.  The range is located on Warner Bridge Road (1589N, 7000W) about midway between Route 113 and Route 17.  GPS coordinates for the range facility are 41°08'26.80" N  88°00'38.23" W.
