Illinois Soybean Association Publishes 'Sam's Soy Trek' Peel 'n Stick Children's Book
BLOOMINGTON, Ill., July 19 /PRNewswire/ -- The Illinois Soybean Association (ISA) recently unveiled a new book titled "Sam's Soy Trek" to help young children get acquainted with soybeans. This peel 'n stick adventure book was developed for children in preschool through the third grade, and complements ISA's Pod to Plate curriculum for students in grades 4-8. Beginning at a soybean farm, the book's story also journeys to other destinations that touch on soybean processing, soy transportation and soy products.
"Sam's Soy Trek" introduces Sam the Soy Biodiesel Semi and offers hands-on fun to foster learning and stimulate imaginative play. The softcover book includes sheets of vinyl-cling stickers that youngsters can attach, remove, rearrange and store in the book for additional use. The stickers feature Sam the Soy Biodiesel Semi and his friends: other soy biodiesel semi-trucks named Rocky, Dixie and Hank, as well as J.J. the Tractor, Carl the Combine, Gus the Bus, Toby the Tugboat and Alice the Train.
Educators can order copies of the book for $6.00 each by using ISA's Order Form for Educational Materials at www.ilsoy.org or by calling 888-826-4011.
ISA is the statewide organization for Illinois soybean growers. The farmers on its board administer soybean checkoff funds to support research, promotions and educational programs designed to increase demand for Illinois soybeans, as well as administer legislation and membership programs.
