CHICAGO, June 3, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Illinois CPA Society recently honored Lawrence A. Wojcik, CPA, JD with its 2011 Lifetime Achievement Award for his commitment to the Society, as well as his overall contributions and professional achievements.
Wojcik, a partner with global law firm DLA Piper, has been actively involved in the CPA profession for almost 30 years, contributing generously of not only his time, but his considerable professional expertise as an attorney specializing in the litigation area. Wojcik has served on, and often led, a number of important committees and task forces of the Illinois CPA Society over the past three decades. His chairmanship of groups such as the Committee on Structure & Volunteerism Task Force, the Regulation & Legislation Committee, the Accounting Act Sunset Task Force, and, most importantly, the Society's Board of Directors, proved especially valuable as the Society and its members navigated through new challenges and established new strategic directions.

Wojcik has always demonstrated a strong commitment to community service and continues to lead by example with his countless hours of pro bono work. Last year, he was honored by the Illinois State Bar Association with its prestigious 2009-2010 John C. McAndrews Pro Bono Service Award in the Outstanding Individual Attorney category. In addition to recognizing Wojcik individually for his effort, the Illinois Bar Foundation also awarded a $1,000 grant to the Uptown People's Law Center in his honor. Based on his work on this project and his other numerous pro bono efforts, Wojcik also was honored with the Seventh Circuit Bar Association Pro Bono Award in 2010.
