LAS VEGAS, June 11, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- June 8, 2014 was a day to remember for the lucky slot player who, on that date, won a colossal $3,617,318 jackpot on IGT's (NYSE: IGT) millionaire-minting slot machine, Megabucks. The mega-sized jackpot was awarded at Barona Resort & Casino in San Diego and marks the largest win in California on a MegaJackpots® game this year and the 16th largest MegaJackpots win of all time in the Golden State.

The winner, Thomas K. of Southern California, was at the casino with his wife when his luck became legendary.  Thomas said he was a fan of the Megabucks slot machine after previously discovering it in Las Vegas. While at Barona, he waited until he finally found an open seat on the Megabucks machine and decided to test his luck with the fan-favorite slot. The payoff was unbelievable. When the sirens of winning sounded throughout the casino, crowds amassed and Thomas tried to connect with his wife who was playing on a near-by machine; she was equally shocked to get the news. The gracious winner does not yet have specific plans for the jackpot winnings.
