IGT Names T. Rao Coca Vice President of Intellectual Property
LAS VEGAS, Oct. 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- International Game Technology (NSYE: IGT), a global leader in creating games that players love and network systems that improve the player experience, announced today that T. Rao Coca has joined the Company in the newly created position of vice president of Intellectual Property.
"Coca brings a wealth of U.S. and international experience in Intellectual Property and is a tremendous addition to the IGT team," said Robert Melendres, IGT chief legal officer and corporate secretary. "The creation of this position is a clear indication of IGT's commitment to its technology leadership and focus on leveraging, protecting and growing its significant intellectual property assets," added Melendres.
Coca has decades of experience in IP strategy, development, licensing and litigation, and has held a variety of executive and legal positions at IBM, Nvidia and NCR. He also has extensive international experience, including managing IBM's IP matters in Tokyo, Beijing and Delhi.
Coca has a Ph.D. in solid state physics, a Juris Doctorate, and a Master of Arts degree in optical physics from Temple University, and a Master of Science degree in nuclear physics from the University of Mysore, India.
