IGT Creates Another Millionaire on its Wheel of Fortune® Slot Machine!

LAS VEGAS, June 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- International Game Technology (NYSE: IGT) is celebrating the recent creation of a very special millionaire. On May 22, a million-plus jackpot hit on an IGT MegaJackpots®, Wheel of Fortune® slot machine for a total of $1,055,732.54 at Harrah's Park Place Casino in Atlantic City. This newly minted winner joins more than 1,500 other IGT-made millionaires.  IGT's MegaJackpots slot machines launched in 1986 and have since awarded nearly 6 billion dollars in jackpots.

The lucky winner, Harry W., had traveled to the casino in hopes of lifting his spirits after receiving some particularly upsetting news on the Tuesday prior. This retired New Jersey resident had received a diagnosis of cancer, and felt a trip to the casino was just what he needed to get his mind off of the bad news.

"I had a goal of playing with $20 for 20 minutes," the winner said. "But, then I started winning. I went from one machine to the next, and at $415 I decided to do one more pull."

What happened next was nothing short of a plot straight out of a TV series. As the jackpot hit, flashing lights alerted the player sitting next to the new millionaire, who excitedly told him he'd won the progressive.

Upon returning home, the new millionaire and his wife have decided that they will pay off their home mortgage, which comes at a great time as they will be finally moving back into the home that they'd lost during Hurricane Sandy. They will also invest a portion of the winnings, and plan to help out family members in need. As an added bonus, the winner's wife will also get to enjoy the retired life with her husband.
