IFAW welcomes Andrew C. Wilson as new VP of Philanthropy
YARMOUTH PORT, Mass., June 17, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Andrew C. Wilson will join the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) starting on July, 1 as Vice President of Philanthropy. In this role, he will direct global giving across the organization, maintaining IFAW's base of 1.9 million supporters worldwide and developing new strategies to secure IFAW's fundraising success within the ever evolving global philanthropic landscape.

Wilson joins IFAW following a seven year term working with Conservation International. He first served as the Vice President of Corporate Relations at their Center for Environmental Leadership in Business and then took on the role of Vice President for Development where he managed Foundation Relations, International Development, Annual/Online Giving and the organization's advisory councils. His past roles include Regional Vice President of the Eurasia Foundation in Eastern Europe and Central Asia and a successful entrepreneurship in the Russian Far East, where he started and managed five companies. He holds a BA in Political Economy from Princeton University and an Executive MBA from Georgetown University.
He has an extensive international background and has many interesting stories to tell including racing cars on the ice in Moscow, playing point guard on a semi-pro basketball team, serving as the captain of the fencing team and playing first violin at Princeton University. Wilson lives in Falls Church, VA with his wife and two children and will be based in IFAW's office in Washington, D.C.
