• Lightly sand all glossy surfaces before painting, and the paint will stick much better.
• Any time you remove electrical cover plates or fixtures for painting, tape all screws to wall plates and fixtures.
• If you have to pick up the kids and don't have time to clean your paintbrushes or rollers, wrap them in plastic wrap or foil and you've just bought yourself four hours.
