IEHP partners with IEDC to host the 2017 Disabilities Conference
RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif., Sept. 19, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP) continues to empower people with disabilities to live independently by helping to stage the 2017 Inland Empire Disabilities Collaborative (IEDC) Conference, set for Wednesday, September 27 at the Goldy S. Lewis Community Center in Rancho Cucamonga, from 10am to 4pm.
The 2017 IEDC Conference features two celebrity guests: singer, songwriter, and world-class guitarist José Feliciano, and the legendary leader and pioneer in the disability community Judith E. Heumann.
The Conference will also present various industry insiders and speakers to train professionals who provide services that impact the lives of thousands of seniors and persons with disabilities (SPDs) living in the Inland Empire. Lecture topics include:
- Building technical skills based on ADA principles and other disability policy
- Reconnecting to our Roots: Why advocate for change?
- Sharing practical techniques that enhance services and bring financial resources to the Inland Empire
- Revealing how leaders can incorporate change in their organization's policy and provide efficient services for SPDs
Aiming to better serve people with disabilities, IEHP led the way in the facilitation of the IEDC in 2006. Today, the IEDC has grown to include more than 400 organizations from San Bernardino and Riverside Counties that serve persons with disabilities and seniors. With support from this network, the IEDC brings the Conference to the community, promoting equal opportunity, universal access, and full participation of people with disabilities.
"As an innovative health plan and leader in accessible health care," said IEHP Chief Executive Officer Dr. Bradley P. Gilbert, "IEHP is extremely proud to participate in 2017 IEDC Conference because it embodies our goal to empower persons with disabilities to live independently."
