IEHP DualChoice Cal MediConnect Plan Earns Top Customer Satisfaction Score in the Nation
RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif., Jan. 13, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Out of the 40 Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug (MA-PD) plans participating in the Medicare-Medicaid Demonstration nationwide (called Cal MediConnect Plan in California), IEHP DualChoice Cal MediConnect Plan had the third-highest score in the country in the 2016 MMP CAHPS survey from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) which assesses the experiences patients have with their health plans.
"We're proud of this achievement," said Dr. Bradley P. Gilbert, IEHP chief executive officer. "This very high score and recognition are direct results of IEHP's team culture, our core values, and our goal to make sure our Members get the care they need, when they need it, with courtesy and respect."
Medicare-Medicaid Plans (MMP) are for "dual eligibles" or people who have both Medicare and Medicaid. CMS conducts this important annual survey to gauge aspects of a dual eligible's healthcare experience in the last six months, including accessibility and quality of care.
In order to be reported in the annual MMP CAHPS survey scores, health plans must have at least 600 enrollees as of July 1 of the previous calendar year. The survey is administered to a large sample of beneficiaries using a mixed data-collection protocol of mailings and phone calls. Respondents rate their health plans on a number of issues on a scale of 0 to 10, with 10 being the best. IEHP scored 88 out of 100 for overall health plan ratings, placing IEHP DualChoice among the top 5 MMP plans in the country with the third-highest score.
IEHP DualChoice has more than 22,000 Members. The goal of the plan is to integrate all healthcare services to better coordinate care and improve health for its members. IEHP DualChoice does this by integrating all Medicaid and Medicare benefits in a single plan that includes medical, behavioral health, long-term services and supports, and extra benefits like dental, vision and transportation.
