IEEE Computer Society Introduces Intel Sponsored Platinum Award Program
LOS ALAMITOS, Calif., Sept. 9, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- IEEE Computer Society, in cooperation with Intel, announces the Intel Platinum Professional Software Developer Award. Software Developers who successfully complete the IEEE CS Professional Software Developer Certification prior to May 30th, 2016, will become eligible for the Intel Sponsored Professional Software Platinum Developer Award. Competition is open to all software developers throughout the world.
The Intel Platinum Software Developer Award will be awarded to the three individuals who achieve the highest certification exam scores. All three individuals will each be awarded $3000, and will be honored at the IEEE CS Annual Banquet Awards.
The IEEE CS Professional Software Developer Certification is a professional competency certification which requires the successful completion of two parts:
- Part I: An online multiple choice exam (covering the following 4 SWEBOK key knowledge areas: Software Engineering Requirements, Software Engineering Design, Software Engineering Construction, and Software Engineering Testing);
- Part II: The successful completion of Applied Modules I and II, which involve performing actual Java coding skills. The applied exam modules are powered by Proxor, a Carnegie Mellon University spin off, and use state of the art Authentic Examination™ technology.
