FRAMINGHAM, Mass. and SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 31, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- A highly successful Macworld 2011 closed on Saturday at the Moscone Center's West Hall in San Francisco where approximately 25,000 attendees packed the show floor to see, try and buy the latest in Apple-related products, more than 250 exhibitors launched in excess of 100 new innovations, and more than 100 educational sessions were taught by industry experts and luminaries, IDG World Expo, owner of Macworld 2011, announced today. Macworld 2012 will be held at the Moscone Center's West Hall on January 26 – 28, 2012.

Highlights of Macworld 2011 included:
- Industry Forum, which made its debut at Macworld 2011, was an exclusive event that brought together developers, industry-watchers, media, analysts, volume product buyers, and other influencers for a day of discussion about the dynamics that both shape the third-party Apple-products marketplace and move the industry forward. From feature presentations with noted industry watchers to 20-minute market presentations on technology and key markets, the Industry Forum delivered useful content in a deeply impactful format.
- A special sold-out SuperSession that delivered productivity tips for the iPad from Christopher Breen, senior editor at Macworld.
- Feature Presentations by performer Sinbad, designers Nathan Shedroff and Chris Noessel, self-fixer Kyle Wiens, cellist and composer Zoe Keating, Dream Theater keyboardist Jordan Rudess, and TechGirlz Shellie Hall, Dani Deahl, Cali Lewis, Amber MacArthur, Natali Morris and Stephanie (Sullivan) Rewis.
- Macworld announced its "Best of Show" winners, products, innovations and upgrades for Mac and iOS devices that stand out from the crowd as determined by its editors. This year's winners were: Awind McTiVia, BusyMac BusyToDo, Dane Elec myDitto Key, Global Delight Boom, OWN Mercury Aura Pro Express Solid State Drive, Rain Design iRest for iPad, Scosche myTrek Pulse Monitor and iOS app, TenOne Designs Fling, Web Information Solutions Pocket Informant 2.0 and Zagg ZaggMate with Keyboard.
- First-time Featured Artists program that celebrated works of art, photography, film and music created by individuals who are pushing the boundaries of creativity and innovation using Apple technology and Mac OS X add-on tools. The Artists included musician Jonathan Mann of "Song A Day" fame, visual artist Kyle Lambert who has elevated the art of finger-painting with the iPad, fine art photographer Joseph O. Holmes, and filmmakers Michael Koerbel and Anna Elizabeth James whose mobile film series "Goldilocks" was shot entirely on the iPhone 4 and iPod Touch. Attendees in the Featured Artist sessions gained unique insight into the artists' creative process, as well as how Apple and Mac OS X add-on products help them bring their creations to life.
- Macworld Live! featured special live podcasts and product spotlights on the expo floor. Sessions included Mac Power Users, "Parenting in the Age of the Internet" with MacVoices, discussions with MacTribe and "Cool Stuff Found" with Mac Geek Gab.
- Macworld Music Studio, a collaboration with Berklee College of Music, featured education, demonstrations, performances and training on the use of Mac technologies for recording, rehearsing, editing and songwriting. Sessions included "Drum software for the Mac," "iOs Mobile Apps for the Guitar" and "GarageBand 101."
- The Macworld 2011 Mobile Apps Showcase, one of the most highly trafficked areas of the show floor, was the largest gatherings of mobile app developers under one roof at one time. Now in its second year, the Showcase featured the latest innovations from iPad, iPhone and iPod touch app developers and gave attendees an exclusive opportunity to learn about and try the newest and coolest applications directly from the people who develop them. Companies participating included: Alawar Entertainment, ALK Technologies, Appfluence, Byte Squared, Cenapp, Combay, Far Out Labs, Flixoft, Glu Mobile, MobilePundits, MotionPortrait, Penpower, QuickOffice, Readdle, ThinkOptics, Tibor Horvath and Vito Technology.
- The Macworld 2011 First Looks program showcased the latest hardware, software, apps and accessories for the Mac, iPhone, iPod and iPad platforms. Some of the most buzzed about new products on the show floor included: algoriddim's djay for iPad, Optoma Technology's Neo-I Pico Projector, Ten One Design's Fling game controller, Assero Industries' Defender iPad front pack and ELEMENTS by Revena, a line of iPad mounting solutions.
