Ideum's New Multitouch Wall: New Ultra Thin and Modular Design is Windows 8 Ready
CORRALES, N.M., Sept. 6, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Ideum has announced the release of a major update to its popular 65" Presenter multitouch wall display. The Presenter is now just 2" thin and has a new modular design, allowing the multitouch display to be purchased on its own or with an integrated CPU and connectivity box.
The Presenter features a 65" 3D LCD display with full HD resolution and 30,000,000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio. The integrated touch sensor supports 32+ simultaneous touch points and performs flawlessly in nearly any lighting situation. The Presenter is designed to be mounted either horizontally or vertically.
The optional CPU and connectivity box includes an Intel® Core™ i7 quad-core processor with a discrete NVIDA® GTX560 GPU. The computer system comes standard with 8 GB of RAM and a 512 GB solid-state drive (SSD) and is upgradeable to 16 GB with dual 512 SSDs. The Presenter includes HDMI in/out, Ethernet, WIFI, Bluetooth, USB, and includes RFID connectivity that can be programmed to switch applications or to allow for easy administrative access.

"The Presenter can transform just about any space," explains Ideum CEO Jim Spadaccini. "Our display size is more than 2 ½ times larger than the Microsoft Samsung SUR40. Plus, it is considerably thinner and it performs under virtually any lighting conditions. The Presenter is also a low-cost alternative to Perceptive Pixel's 84" touch monitor for collaborative work environments."
The Presenter and all of Ideum's touch products are built to exacting standards and are designed to be maintenance-free. The Presenter, Pro and Platform multitouch tables all have single-push-button operation.
The 2" thin Presenter is protected by hardened tempered glass, a vandal-proof lightweight aluminum shell and locked access to input and output ports. It is built for demanding environments such as museums, schools, laboratories, retail spaces, corporate offices and boardrooms, and other public and semi-public settings. The new Presenter is available now.
Each touch wall ships with Windows 7 Professional and is Windows 8 ready and includes a lifetime license for the GestureWorks SDK; this powerful authoring package includes GestureML, the world's first markup language for multitouch, and a number of pre-built Open Exhibits multitouch components.
