Analyst Update: Financial Results, Leadership Changes, Strategic Agreements, Rights Offering and Operating Results

The US stock markets on Monday ended the day on a fairly flat note, as gains were curbed when an early rally in energy stocks was lost due to tumbling oil prices. U.S. crude settled down $1.12 at $53.61 a barrel. While the NASDAQ remained flat at 4,806.91, the S&P 500 posted its 53rd record close of the year on Monday at 2,090.57, up 0.09%. Dow Jones Industrial Average however edged 0.09% lower at 18,038.23. The European stock markets on Monday closed on a mixed note. Greek stocks and bonds slumped after politicians in the country failed for a third time to endorse Prime Minister Antonis Samaras' preferred candidate. Following the rally in the US markets on optimism about the U.S. economic outlook, the Asian stock market rose broadly on Monday. Chinese and Hong Kong shares extended recent gains in reaction to Friday's announcement by the People's Bank of China on easing liquidity requirements at banks starting next year.
Conn's, Inc. (Conn's) consolidated revenues for Q3 FY 2015 (period ended October 31, 2014) expanded by 19.0% YoY and amounted to $370.1 million. Conn's also announced the appointment of Mark Haley as Interim CFO, effective immediately and the departure of Brian Taylor, CFO.
Corinthian Colleges Inc. (Corinthian Colleges) has entered into a definitive agreement with Zenith Education Group, Inc., an affiliate of ECMC Group, Inc., as per which Zenith will acquire 56 Everest and WyoTech campuses in 17 states as well as online programs.
Cosi, Inc. announced the final results of its rights offering, as per which the Company received subscriptions for approx. 15.97 million shares, exceeding the maximum offering of 13.33 million shares.
Costco Wholesale Corporation (Costco) announced its operating results for Q1 FY 2015 (period ended November 23, 2014) posting net sales of $26.3 billion, up by 7.4% YoY. Net income for the quarter was $496 million, or $1.12 per diluted share as compared to $425 million, or $0.96 per diluted share, last year.
Courier Corporation (Courier) announced Q4 FY 2014 (period ended September 27, 2014) gross profit of $24.5 million, up by 0.2% YoY. On November 19, 2014, the Company announced the completion of its acquisition of a 60% interest in Digital Page Grafica e Editora, a digital printer based in Sao Paulo, Brazil, for an investment of approximately $9 million.
