Identified.com Gains More Than Two Million Active Users
Fueled by Millennials, the data analytics company is doubling in size every month
SAN FRANCISCO, March 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Identified.com announced today that it has reached two million active users just six months since its official launch -- one million of these users joined the site within the last five weeks. Since launching in September 2011, the platform has doubled in size nearly every month, with young professionals and college students fueling most of that growth.
The average age of an Identified user is 23.5 years-old and 90 percent of Identified users are under 35, with nearly 60 percent under 25 years-old according to Appdata.com[1]. In contrast, on competitor site LinkedIn, 40 percent of users are under 35, and 60 percent are 35 and over, according to Quantcast.com.[2]
But it is the depth and quality of the data about its millennial users that truly differentiates the company. All Identified users are required to complete detailed professional profiles and create a "short-form resume" to find out their Identified Score. The average user adds 10 additional professional data points to their profile such as school, major, GPA, graduation year, companies, job titles, positions and other relevant professional background.
"The Facebook generation does not exist on LinkedIn, which is dominated by more experienced professionals, or on outdated job boards, which are not in tune with the social generation," said co-founder and co-CEO Brendan Wallace. "Identified's young users love that they can create and control their professional profile online separate from their Facebook profile. This is clearly resonating with them. At this rate of growth we expect to hit 25 million active users by June, predominantly under age 35."
Identified is currently developing a set of solutions for companies and recruiters to access its database, target candidates and promote jobs.
"We get probably 50 inbound calls per day from companies, and several hundred recruiters attending our bi-weekly Webinars, who want to use Identified to reach this young audience they can't find on LinkedIn or anywhere else," said Wallace.
Identified's database has been doubling in size every four weeks to reach its current total of two million active users (with the professional information of 247 million Facebook users mapped). It was recently named one of the Top 20 Emerging Applications by Inside Facebook for most active users.
Identified analyzes the work history, education and demographic data of Facebook users, and tracks the hiring behaviors of thousands of companies to measure what is 'in demand' right now in the form of an "Identified Score" for professionals and students alike.
