Idaho School Choice Supporters to Say 'Thank You' at State Capitol
BOISE, Idaho, Jan. 16, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- In honor of National School Choice Week, school choice supporters will visit the Idaho State Capitol and deliver handwritten notes expressing their gratitude to state legislators and senators for supporting educational opportunity.
Visits to the Capitol building will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22 and 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24. The events are sponsored by Tech Trep Academy and will be attended by more than 150 students, parents, and educators. Attendees will have the opportunity to tour the Capitol building as well as meet with legislators.
The events are planned to coincide with the history-making celebration of National School Choice Week 2019, which will feature more than 40,000 school choice events across all 50 states.
"The letters we deliver and conversations we have will highlight how grateful we are for having school choices," said Janet Cox, curriculum specialist at Tech Trep Academy. "Gathering at the Capitol really captures the historic importance of educational opportunity."
Tech Trep Academy is a tuition-free, public school program for grades K-8 tailored to the unique needs of each student.
As a nonpartisan, nonpolitical public awareness effort, National School Choice Week shines a positive spotlight on effective education options for students, families, and communities around the country.
