ID Media EVP, Managing Director Amy Armstrong Named a "Women Making a Difference Executive of the Year" Finalist By the Los Angeles Business Journal
NEW YORK, May 30, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Amy Armstrong, EVP, Managing Director of ID Media, an Interpublic Group media agency, has been named an "Executive of the Year" finalist by the Los Angeles Business Journal.
The award-winning weekly, which chronicles the LA business and economic scene, honored Amy as part of its 20th annual "Women Making a Difference" Awards. This year's awards drew more than 175 nominees, and Amy was one of only 20 finalists selected for the "Executive of the Year" accolade.
The award honors LA business women who "far exceed the expectations of their organization, and are recognized as leaders among their peers," said the Journal.
A 17-year IPG veteran, Amy oversees ID Media's Los Angeles office, a practice she deftly turned around and grew from scratch at age 28. Her accomplishments include building relationships with new clients, including WellPoint, Time Warner and Intuit, as well as media partners like Google and Yahoo; increasing the workforce five-fold, and putting her office on the map as one of the agency's fastest growing in the U.S. (ID Media, which has offices in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles, is part of IPG, a global marketing services company with 40,000-plus employees worldwide.)
"In LA, Amy created something that was built to last," wrote ID Media CEO Lynn Fantom when nominating Amy for the award.
Active in charity causes, Amy has also spearheaded fundraising for gastric and esophageal cancer organizations, including the DeGregorio Foundation. Currently, she is organizing the foundation's first West Coast fundraiser, which takes place this August in Santa Monica.
Other awards categories included Business Owner/CEO of the Year, Rising Star, Volunteer of the Year and Philanthropist of the Year.
