ID Experts® RADAR® Simplifies Global Data Breach Obligations, Adds European Union Privacy Laws
Award-winning Incident Response Management Software Streamlines EU Data Breach Notification Obligations to Make Managing Security Incidents Even Easier
WASHINGTON, March 4, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- With 47 state and multiple federal U.S. laws regulating data breach notification, managing data security incidents is complicated. For international companies, incident management requires navigating an even more complex maze of regulations. This week, at the IAPP Global Privacy Summit, ID Experts® announces the addition of European Union (EU) Privacy Laws to RADAR®, ID Experts' patented incident response management software. Now, companies with both U.S. and EU operations can rely on RADAR to easily manage privacy incidents across EU and U.S. jurisdictions.
International data privacy and protection laws are continually changing. While the EU advances a data protection directive, national regulatory authorities of each EU state regulate the privacy practices of multinational entities. To help companies navigate this complexity, the newly redesigned and expanded RADAR resource library includes an analysis of each EU state's main data protection and privacy law—28 in total. Each analysis includes definitions of protected data elements, to who (and to what) the law applies, and what constitutes a data breach. RADAR helps organizations efficiently respond to security and privacy incidents and meet compliance obligations in both the U.S. and the EU in a landscape of continually evolving state, federal, and international laws.
RADAR Saves Time, Saves Resources, Simplifies Compliance
"RADAR empowers companies to take charge of incident management cross-company, cross-state, and cross-borders," said Mahmood Sher-Jan, executive vice president and general manager, RADAR business unit at ID Experts. "Organizations are looking for a streamlined solution to the complex processes of incident risk assessment, breach determination, and documentation, in order to understand their domestic and international notification and reporting obligations. We are helping them to be more responsive and proactive in data breach analysis, response, and compliance."
RADAR Makes Managing Security Incidents Even Easier
The new RADAR dashboard makes it even easier to track and prioritize security and privacy incidents. Users can now instantly monitor the status of incidents and view lists of pending incidents to track critical decision dates and manage notification timetables. New charts provide a visual overview of incident statistics including incidents by location, breaches by jurisdiction, and overdue notifications. The Dashboard guarantees users will stay on top of incidents, meet regulatory obligations, and minimize organizational risk.
Enhanced RADAR Support Center
In addition to a new overall design, an enhanced RADAR support center includes a knowledge base to help users learn how to optimize RADAR, a feedback forum where they can post ideas and vote up others, and a fully integrated contact form that allows users to send a message directly to the support team.
