Icontrol One Announces Support for Simon XT and XTi Panels
Makes home automation simple and cost-effective for both new installs and the nearly 500,000 Simon XT/XTi customers in need of a 2G upgrade
REDWOOD CITY, Calif., June 25, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Icontrol Networks, the company behind the most widely-distributed interactive security and home automation platform in the industry, today announced support for the popular Interlogix Simon XT/XTi line of security panels on its Icontrol One solution. This marks the first set of panels supported by Icontrol One, a home automation solution that offers levels of performance and reliability proven with large service providers, but with a business model tailored for independent security dealers.
As of June 2015, more than 485,000 Simon XT/XTi security panels installed with 2G radios will need to be upgraded to 3G. Leveraging the Novatel Wireless MiFi Secure SA 1100 radio module, dealers using Icontrol One can bring homeowners 3G connectivity while offering interactive security and home automation functionality for less cost than upgrading to a standalone 3G radio module.
"We know from our 2015 State of the Smart Home Study that security continues to drive interest in the smart home," said Bob Hagerty, chief executive officer of Icontrol Networks. "We are excited to integrate our technology with Interlogix panels to provide independent security dealers with a proven, cost-effective home automation solution."
As the technology behind major service provider smart home solutions, including ADT Pulse and Xfinity Home, Icontrol software manages more than 26 million sensors and devices, and this year alone, the platform will manage more than 100 billion activities worldwide. Icontrol One makes this technology available to independent security dealers for the first time.
