iControl Networks Expands Internationally, Partners with Swisscom

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Oct. 28, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- iControl Networks, a leader in broadband home management, today announced the company's expansion into the European market through its partnership with Swisscom, Switzerland's leading telecoms provider.  Together, iControl and Swisscom will offer new products and services for residential customers to help them stay connected to their homes when away.  The first "Smart Living" solutions will be launched to the Swiss market next year.

According to an ABI Research study, "Home Automation and Monitoring," approximately 1.8 million home automation systems were shipped globally in 2011, and that number will increase to more than 12 million shipments by 2016, largely due to the fact that service providers are entering the managed home automation market.

Initially, Swisscom's "Smart Living" solution will allow consumers to control home appliances and other devices via smartphones or the web.  Security sensors and video, as well as appliances such as heaters, lamps or coffee machines, are linked together in an intelligent network that consumers can control from anywhere, at any time.
