Iconic Seats for an Iconic Car; Recaro Comes Standard in New Camaro Z/28

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., April 30, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Hand-crafted Recaro seats will be standard fitment for the return of the most iconic model in Camaro history, the Z/28. The driving experience of the powerful, high-revving, track-ready Z/28 will be enhanced with the bold bolstering and high-performance driving capabilities the Recaro seat offers.

The 2014 Camaro Z/28 was unveiled at the New York Auto Show and will arrive at dealers in the United States in early 2014.The new Z/28 will come standard with Recaro seats, a natural selection for the high-performance, track-ready vehicle. The new seats, also available on the coupe versions of the Camaro SS 1LE package and ZL1 models, feature Recaro's signature distinctive bolsters for high-performance driving, as well as seat cutouts inspired by the five-point harnesses found on racing seats.

The design of the new Recaro seat is in line with Chevrolet's track-tested and approved high-performance vehicles in every way. In addition to the sport performance shoulder bolstering, the new seat is ergonomically designed to optimize long-term comfort and reduce driver fatigue. The curved backrest supports the driver, optimizing lumbar support and compensating for the forces that come with intense driving. Bolstering located at the waist, lower back and thighs helps to firmly hold the driver in place for optimal handling capabilities.

The seat performance is enhanced aesthetically with fine quality leather hides that include Miko suede inserts for a luxurious look and feel consistent with Recaro's unique and industry-leading design. Individually handcrafted top stitching and French seam detailing, hand sewn to the highest standards of artistry, lead to a final look that is crisp and clean, complementing the Camaro's sporty interior. The hand sewn seat covers are refined and tight, giving the seat the coveted sculpted and clean Recaro look. The seats will include model-specific embroidered detailing and an embossed Recaro logo in the headrest.

This exciting program is an extension of Recaro's relationship with General Motors. Recaro Automotive Seating currently provides optional performance seats specifically designed for the Cadillac CTS-V SERIES.
