iCoffee® vs Keurig®, The Test Results Are In
Study by Ohio State University® Sensory Science Group reported sensory differences when comparing Starbucks® House Blend K-Cups® brewed in iCoffee® Opus™ with SpinBrew™ Needle Technology and Keurig® 2.0 K-560 stationary needle brewing method
VALENCIA, Calif., Dec. 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Results from a Descriptive Panel conducted by the Ohio State University® Sensory Science Group showed that iCoffee's® patent-pending SpinBrew™ spinning needle with jets brews coffee that tastes smoother with a more pleasant aftertaste and aroma than Keurig®*.
iCoffee engaged the Sensory Science Group at Ohio State University to compare the differences in sensory characteristics between Starbucks® K-Cups®* brewed in the iCoffee Opus™ with SpinBrew Needle Technology and in the Keurig 2.0 K-560 with stationary needle.
A panel of twelve highly-trained Descriptive Analysis experts quantified each sample of Starbucks House Blend K-Cups brewed in each brewer, with analysis and evaluation of each sample in three categories: Flavor and Taste, Aftertaste, and Aroma.
"The results of these hard comparison tests show that our SpinBrew needle technology is critical in brewing smoother and more pleasant tasting coffee," said Bruce Burrows, inventor and CEO of iCoffee.
"It's never been done before. Our patent-pending SpinBrew Needle Technology uses jets to spin, steam and stir the coffee inside all K-Cups®, RealCup™ capsules, One Cups™**, and all private label k-type cups from any brand or maker, bringing out smoother flavor and taste and a more pleasant aftertaste and aroma. Our competition's stationary needle brewing method simply cannot deliver what SpinBrew can," Burrows continued.
On the heels of the panel's results, iCoffee is rolling out The iCoffee Challenge nationwide, comparing the iCoffee brewer against Keurig at national events, allowing coffee lovers to taste and experience the differences for themselves.
"You don't have to be an expert to immediately notice the difference in taste produced by our SpinBrewing Needle Technology," added Burrows. "First-time coffee drinkers and long-time coffee lovers will immediately taste iCoffee's smoother, more pleasant sensory profiles."
