ICMA-RC Promotes Long-Term Savings Behaviors through Financial Education
-- ICMA-RC Rolls Out Campaign During America Saves Week --
WASHINGTON, Feb. 23, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- As part of America Saves Week, Feb. 23–Feb. 28, 2015, ICMA-RC is helping to educate public sector employees on the importance of maintaining long-term savings behaviors when planning for retirement. America Saves Week is an opportunity for employees to renew their focus on saving for retirement at a time when people often think about establishing goals — at the beginning of the year.
ICMA-RC created resources specifically for the week, to help public sector employees focus on saving for their retirement goals and guide them in making sound financial decisions. ICMA-RC created the "Resolve to Save" campaign to encourage goal setting at the beginning of the year and rolled it out to participants for America Saves Week.
"We recognize the importance of promoting good savings behaviors over time and we have created education materials to help public sector employees prepare for all their savings goals, but especially working toward a well-deserved retirement," said Alex Hannah, Vice President, Marketing Communications & Education. "We are honored to participate in America Saves Week for the third consecutive year. It's a great opportunity to encourage our participants to save for retirement."
About America Saves Week
America Saves Week is coordinated by America Saves and the America Savings Education Council. The week is an annual opportunity for organizations to promote good savings behavior and a chance for individuals to assess their own savings status.
