ICMA-RC Participates in America Saves Week, Encourages Saving, Goal Setting
WASHINGTON, Feb. 26, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- According to a survey released by the American Savings Education Council in coordination with America Saves Week, 51 percent of Americans have a savings plan with specific goals. As part of America Saves Week, Feb. 24 – March 3, ICMA-RC is helping to educate public sector employees on the importance of goal setting throughout their career. The week provides an opportunity for employees to renew their focus on saving and prepare for retirement at a time when people often think about establishing goals — at the beginning of the year.
ICMA-RC created resources specifically for the week that will help public sector employees focus on saving for their future goals and make sound financial decisions. ICMA-RC's "saver's guide" links to three of ICMA-RC's more than 20 award-winning educational resources such as ICMA-RC's multimedia RealizeRetirement(SM) website (www.icmarc.org/realize) featuring videos, calculators, brochures and other educational materials.
"ICMA-RC makes it a priority to provide financial education and resources to help public sector employees build retirement security, and we are excited to participate in America Saves Week for the second consecutive year," said ICMA-RC President and CEO Joan McCallen.
