ICF Announces 2010 ICF Chapter Award Winners
Five chapters honored at annual conference
LEXINGTON, Ky., Nov. 17, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- The International Coach Federation (ICF) honored five ICF Chapters with an ICF Chapter Award during the 2010 ICF Annual International Conference in Fort Worth, Texas, USA. These annual awards recognize chapters who have successfully implemented coaching-related marketing and community activism initiatives in their local communities.
"ICF Chapters around the world are working hard to advance our profession," said ICF President and Master Certified Coach Giovanna D'Alessio. "Each year, ICF Chapter Awards are presented in two categories, the Local Spirit, Global Presence-Community Activism Award and the Finding our Voice-Marketing/PR Award to recognize chapter efforts."
Recipients of the Local Spirit, Global Presence-Community Activism Award have established a significant coaching presence in their communities. The chapters who received this award are:
- ICF Greater Richmond Chapter for its partnership with the Job Assistance Ministry (JAM), a local nonprofit group, to provide free support services to individuals seeking employment. Services included one-on-one pro bono coaching and mentoring; and
- ICF Turkey for providing one-on-one pro bono coaching for two semesters to university students who hold scholarships from the Cagdas Yasami Destekleme Dernegi, a group dedicated to building schools and providing education opportunities to women and youth.
Recipients of the Finding Our Voice-Marketing/PR Award have created a successful marketing/PR campaign in their communities. The chapters who received this award are:
- ICF Argentina for drawing over 500 attendees to various free in-person presentations covering Somatic and Leadership Coaching, as well as more than 100 participants to each of their virtual events over a six-month period;
- ICF Los Angeles for doubling the chapter's membership and meeting attendance and more than tripling the chapter's bank account during 2010 through implementing new ideas, including forging relationships with representatives at all local ICF Accredited training programs and introducing advertising opportunities; and
- ICF France for organizing this year's ICF European Coaching Conference held in Paris, France - an event attended by more than 600 participants from 38 countries.
Other honors presented at the ICF Conference included ICF International Prism Awards to biotech industry leader Genentech, acquired by the Roche Group in March 2009, and Norway's largest dairy company the TINE Group, as well as the ICF President's Award to Kim Freedman of Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
