Cox will join the Ice Mountain team at the Health & Fitness Expo on July 19 and 20 at McCormick Place, just minutes from downtown Chicago. Cox, the American record holder in the 50K, four-time U.S. Olympic Trials qualifier and three-time U.S. National Team member, will be at the Ice Mountain booth to share his expert training advice and personal quest for constant betterment with consumers, arming them with information to help them perform at their best from training, to race day, through recovery. Cox will also invite runners to consider their own stories by encouraging participants at the Expo to share their quests for personal betterment on running bibs at the Ice Mountain booth, serving as inspiration for Sunday's race.
Cox has logged plenty of miles though the city of Chicago and along portions of the Rock 'n' Roll Chicago course, so he knows all about the importance of consistent hydration through each mile marker. "Anyone who has put in the miles on the Chicago lakefront during the summer months will tell you the most important factor to a successful run is staying properly hydrated – not just while training, but before and after, as well," says Cox. "As a professional athlete and full-time runner, Ice Mountain bottled water is an important part of my workout routine when I'm in Chicago, and I am excited to help inspire this year's runners on their own personal running journeys."
Ice Mountain Brand 100% Natural Spring Water, sourced from carefully selected natural springs, has long been supporting various running events. The brand is excited to return as the official bottled water sponsor of the half marathon on Sunday, July 21 where Ice Mountain will be supplied on the course at both the start and finish lines.
"Ice Mountain is proud to once again be a part of the Rock 'n' Roll Chicago Half Marathon as the official bottled water sponsor and running partner for participating athletes," says Angela Barile, Ice Mountain Brand Group Marketing Manager. "The brand shares in the runners' passion to be their very best and we're excited to help support the runners as they cross the finish line and celebrate their accomplishments."
