SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- ICAP Patent Brokerage announces the sale of one US granted medical technology patent for a life-saving product that gathers important diagnostic data on a patient experiencing a medical emergency or other medical condition in the field. First responders, rural health care providers, or those located in non-medical institutions are able to transmit the data to centrally located health care providers who can assist in providing real-time critical care or other medical support to help stabilize and treat patients in remote locations including helping to determine a medical plan if one is indicated.

"Nothing is more important to providing remote critical care than to have access to a patient's medical condition and diagnostic testing at the actual time of a medical intervention or assessment. Timely medical status information can save lives. Accordingly, we're very excited about offering this telemedicine tool to our global base of buyers," says Dean Becker, CEO ICAP Patent Brokerage and ICAP Ocean Tomo Auctions.
Key Characteristics & Benefits
This IP device eliminates barriers to medical care related to distance medicine, allowing physicians and nurses to examine, diagnose, and treat subjects remotely through telemedicine technology. This portable device contains a broad spectrum of data-gathering instruments for real-time physical examinations, including ophthalmoscopes and otoscopes for visual inspection, electronic stethoscopes for audio evaluation, oximeters and ECG monitors for electrical observation, and visual imaging capabilities. The results from these tests are immediately transmitted to medical personnel including emergency personnel, medical specialists, and other medical providers using a telecommunications system contained in the portable device. This means that fewer physicians may attend to a greater number of patients, and also provide care to those that find themselves in desperate situations.
The patent will be sold to the party who provides the highest offer on or before October 31st, subject to trustee and bankruptcy court approval.
