"Greg will be part of our core leadership team in London. With his skillset and confidence he's best suited to help us become a leader in the cutting edge digital news business," said Dev Pragad, Co-founder and Managing Director at IBT Media UK and EMEA. "His experience of identifying trends, driving growth and working across many platforms including print magazines and digital products makes him the ideal appointment. This is an exciting time for IBT Media and Greg will be instrumental in our next phase of growth."
Witham joins IBT Media on March 7 and will be responsible for spearheading commercial growth across key markets. He will also develop new revenue streams while overseeing the overall strategy and operations for the business in the UK and across EMEA. The newly created role will drive growth geographically, across multiple platforms and disciplines and launch new properties to grow readership and new revenue content streams.
Witham says, "The opportunities for IBT Media are huge. I am thrilled to join such an agile and dynamic business that's enjoying amazing growth. IBT Media is well on the way to becoming the go-to destination for leading thinkers and influencers across the globe. As well as diversifying the existing portfolio, we've got new markets to work in and new readers to reach."
IBT Media has gone from strength to strength in the past 12 months and will now extend its business to new countries with new channels and platforms.
Witham brings with him a wealth of knowledge and expertise. He joins IBT Media from Hearst Magazines UK, where he was Group Publishing Director of Cosmopolitan, Digital Spy and Sugarscape. Prior to this, his roles at Hearst included Group Publishing Director of Hearst Entertainment and he ran the corporate trading and business development teams. He began his career at Newsquest, and after a spell at Media Week, spent three years at Time, Inc. before joining Hearst.
"Greg's phenomenal energy and track record makes him the perfect candidate to identify commercial opportunities across our EMEA properties, growing readership and profitability for both Newsweek and the International Business Times and diversifying the product portfolio. I'm looking forward to working with Greg and expanding our business and content in new territories," added Pragad.
Witham will be based in IBT Media's newly expanded Canary Wharf office alongside a management team that includes the recently hired Matt McAllester, Newsweek's Editor, EMEA, and a number of other award-winning journalists.
