ARMONK, N.Y., April 29, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- IBM (NYSE: IBM) today announced that Lisa Seacat DeLuca, Technology Strategist, IBM Watson Customer Engagement, is being inducted into the Women in Technology Hall of Fame. Sponsored by the Women in Technology International (WITI) Foundation, the induction ceremony will take place on Monday, June 12.
At 34 years old, DeLuca is the most prolific female inventor in IBM history, and her accomplishments have been recognized widely throughout the industry. In 2016, she was named by the Internet of Things (IoT) Institute as one of the Most Influential Women in IoT. Prior to that, DeLuca was named one of MIT's 35 Innovators Under 35 and one of Fast Company's 100 Most Creative People in Business. She currently serves as a technology strategist in the Cognitive Incubation Lab for IBM Watson Customer Engagement.
WITI's Hall of Fame was launched in 1996 as a U.S.-based outreach initiative supported by the Clinton Administration. WITI is dedicated to providing a forum to recognize, celebrate and publicize women's exceptional contributions to the science and technology fields.
Past honorees include women who have made scientific and technological breakthroughs, who use science and technology to improve the human condition as well as for environmental endeavors to protect the planet.
