BRATISLAVA, Slovakia, April 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic today awarded IBM (NYSE: IBM) a three-year agreement to provide integrated technology services in support of the 2011 census in Slovakia. In terms of the agreement, IBM will automate the collection, processing and analysis of census data. In addition to the traditional paper forms, Slovakian citizens will also be able to fill in questionnaires online.

IBM will develop the graphic design of the census questionnaires in six languages, transfer the data from completed paper forms into the information system, deliver software application for online data collection, ensure monitoring of the online data collection, process the entry data and export it into various required formats.
The 2011 census will be run in accordance with European Union regulations for the first time.
The agreement, signed in April 2010, will be funded through the state budget.
