iAniMagic2016 Contest Collaborates with Global Leading Universities For Art
STATE COLLEGE, Pa., Sept. 27, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The annual animation competition iAniMagic2016 hosted by Kdan Mobile Software has gone live on September 15. The Taiwan headquartered creative software solutions provider has announced new collaborations with leading universities for art and design worldwide for this year's contest. Kdan's annual animation competition has now been running six years in a row, garnering much attention and support from animation enthusiasts.
Kdan announced this week that the animation contest of its flagship application Animation Desk is supported by various academic institutions including California State University, Fullerton (CSUF), Shandong University of Art & Design and Cheng Shiu University. Chuck Grieb, a reputable professor from CSUF, who has served as a storyboard artist and character designer for studios such as Disney and Nickelodeon, will be one of the judges to decide the winners of the competition.
Judging alongside Chuck Grieb will be other experienced professionals Stephen Egts, Mike Dietz, Wendy Grieb, Sean Shi, Hsieh Pei-Wen and Alejandro Garcia.
"Following the success of iAniMagic2015: The Living Light Box, we want to push the boundaries this year to appeal to an even wider set of audience, inviting all the animation enthusiasts across the world to join this annual contest," comments Kenny Su, CEO of Kdan Mobile.
"We see great potentials in the younger generations who are passionate about their studies as well as their hobby, and we actively support them. Besides producing an intuitive animation creation app, we want to provide these students with the opportunity to showcase their creativity and skills beyond university and assist them to build their portfolios. It is with this thought in mind that has led to our outreach to the global leading academic institutions for art and design," Su adds.
The zealous participation has led Kdan Mobile to focus on the development of Animation Desk in both Android and Windows. "We were overwhelmed by the positive feedback from our Android and Windows users. We are working tirelessly on bringing the same features of Animation Desk iOS to both Android and Windows. The latest Cloud version of Animation Desk for Android has accomplished that, and the same will take place in Windows in late September," says Su.
This year, Kdan Mobile has added special awards specifically for students from the participating universities. One student from each collaborating institution will be selected to win an iPad Mini.
iAniMagic2016: My Ani-Character, sponsored by (in alphabetical order) Adonit, Sensu and Wacom, will run for two months until November 15. The prizes include iPad Pro, Wacom Intuos Pro and Apple TV at a total worth of over US$4,000. Moving on from last year's competition theme based on the concept of a "living light box", iAniMagic2016 encourages the participants to create their own, unique animation characters and tell their stories.
