CLEVELAND, May 12, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Bruce M. Hennes, managing partner of Cleveland-based Hennes Paynter Communications, will be honored as the Communicator of the Year at the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Cleveland chapter Reach for the Top event.

The Communicator of the Year award is presented annually by IABC Cleveland to recognize a practitioner who demonstrates excellence in communications.
Hennes has more than 30 years experience working in politics, nonprofit management and the automotive industry. He opened Hennes Communications in 1989, which later became Hennes/Haslett & Associates, handling government relations, public relations, community relations and media training. He left in 2002 to re-form Hennes Communications (now Hennes Paynter Communications) to serve corporations, government agencies and nonprofits that are "on trial" in the Court of Public Opinion. Hennes Paynter Communications also offers litigation communication support, pre-crisis preparation, crisis drills, presentation training and public relations services to clients.
Hennes, along with two Reach for the Top Scholarship winners and three high-performing organizations, will be recognized on Thursday, June 9, during the IABC Cleveland chapter Reach for the Top event.
The event will be held at the Velvet Dog Rooftop Bar and VIP Lounge 1280 W. 6th St., starting at 6 pm. Catering by Sushi Rock.
