i2 Announces Global Partnership to Deepen Integration of the i2 Clarity Platform with SharePoint
i2 and Microsoft Partnership to Enable Seamless Intelligence and Content Sharing for Microsoft SharePoint and i2 Clarity Platform Customers
ARLINGTON, Va., June 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- i2 today announced a new strategic partnership with Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) to provide public and private sector customers with more robust offerings through deeper integration of the companies' technologies. Announced today at i2's annual Americas User Conference, i2's industry-leading link analysis, tactical lead generation and collaboration technologies and Microsoft SharePoint will connect via i2's Natively Wired Framework to support organizations across a wide array of industries. Under terms of the agreement, the companies will work together in using the i2 Natively Wired Framework to share content between the i2 Clarity platform and Microsoft SharePoint repositories.
"i2 has a long history of developing industry-leading analytical tools built on frameworks and platforms created by Microsoft," said Charles Watson, senior vice president of Marketing at i2. "We look forward to actively engaging with our partner to shape the evolution of these solutions and better meet the needs of our customers in an increasingly connected world."
"Law enforcement, intelligence and defense organizations around the world are working tirelessly to prevent and combat crime and acts of terrorism," said Michael Donlan, general manager, Technology, Partners, Defense and Public Safety Industries for Microsoft's Worldwide Public Sector group. "i2 has set the standard for intelligence analysis. We are excited to work more deeply with them to harness our joint expertise and technologies to create compelling solutions to help these organizations operate effectively and collaborate securely as they strive to protect their citizens and national security."
The alliance also bolsters pre-existing partnerships between i2 and geospatial information systems (GIS) solution provider Esri, as well as between Esri and Microsoft.
"Esri and Microsoft have found great value in working together for some time to address the needs of a variety of customers," said Russ Johnson, Public Safety Manager at Esri. "i2 and Esri have equally found value in working together, leveraging each of their collective strengths to support customers in public safety, defense and national security. An alliance now between i2, Esri and Microsoft presents a unique opportunity to enable a robust, but flexible mission critical capability. Esri and Microsoft are excited to work with i2 in providing comprehensive solutions for intelligence analysis, geospatial analysis and workflow management."
Together, the three companies will allow their customers to experience greater synergies across their current platforms. Today's announcement begins a strategic roadmap for developing deeply integrated solutions to further support the work of intelligence analysts, law enforcement officers, fraud investigators, corporate security officers and other professionals who rely on powerful analytical tools to detect, deter and dismantle criminal enterprises.
