According to the American Heart Association, heart disease kills more African Americans than all cancers combined, and African Americans are also affected by stroke two times more than any other race and at younger ages.
"Hyundai is proud to support the efforts of the American Heart Association to raise awareness and end this serious and preventable problem," said Zafar Brooks, Director, Government Relations and Diversity Outreach, Hyundai Motor America. "At Hyundai we are committed to diversity and have a passion for healthcare, and we encourage members of all communities to lead active and healthy lifestyles."
The event will provide attendees with free health screenings and feature information sessions about heart disease and stroke prevention. Live entertainment and physical activities that promote a healthy lifestyle will be available for the entire family.
Participants will also have an opportunity to honor loved ones lost to heart disease and stroke through a Family Tree Memorial.
