FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., Aug. 31, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --On Sunday, August 28, 2016, Hyundai Hope On Wheels® held its 6th annual 5K/10K Run/Walk in Fountain Valley, California, to raise funds for pediatric cancer research. With more than 500 runners and walkers of all ages participating, the annual event underscored the official kick-off of National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Following the race, Hyundai Hope On Wheels presented a check in the amount of $154,000 to the Hyundai Cancer Institute at Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC), representing the funds raised by the local community through this event.

Following the race, HHOW hosted a Family Fun Festival, including food, music, vendor booths and giveaways. The event also featured Hope On Wheels' signature Handprint Ceremony with patients and families from CHOC. This year, Hyundai Hope On Wheels will be awarding $13 million in grants for pediatric cancer research, bringing its total funding of pediatric cancer research to more than $115 million to date.
