Hyundai Canada achieves record 2013 sales
MARKHAM, ON, Jan. 3, 2014 /CNW/ - Hyundai Auto Canada Corp. announced today its full-year 2013 sales of 137,100 vehicles has set a new company record. Buoyed by strong performances last year from its Elantra compact car, Genesis Coupe sports car, Santa Fe Sport SUV, as well as the addition of the new 6-or-7 passenger Santa Fe XL, the company has achieved regular, annual sales growth since 2004.
"Last year was one with a number of significant events for Hyundai in Canada," said Steve Kelleher, President and CEO of Hyundai Auto Canada Corp. "We expanded our Santa Fe nameplate to include an extended-wheelbase Santa Fe XL, grew our dealer network from 206 to 210 locations, celebrated our 30th anniversary in Canada, and helped 2,721 kids play hockey this winter through our Hyundai Hockey Helpers initiative. To end the year with another sales record is just an added bonus."
Kelleher added that 2014 will be another significant year. "At Hyundai, we're never content to sit back and relax. We have big plans for this year and it all starts with the introduction of an all-new Genesis premium sedan on January 13th at the Auto Show in Detroit."
