Hyperloop One Appoints Brent Callinicos As Chief Operating Officer And Chief Financial Officer

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 18, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- HYPERLOOP ONE today announced the promotion of Brent Callinicos to Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of the company. Callinicos joined Hyperloop One in October as a full-time strategic advisor to the CEO and Board of Directors to help develop Hyperloop One's funding and revenue models. Today's move formalizes Brent's hands-on role as a key part of the senior leadership team and expands his oversight to Hyperloop One's fund-raising, growth-planning, acquisitions and investment opportunities.

Callinicos will continue to focus on refining Hyperloop One's business planning and project finance strategy. He will also play a major role with Hyperloop One's Series C round of financing this year as the team expects to double in size and eventually raise billions of dollars in project financing as it builds the world's first Hyperloop.

Prior to joining the company, Mr. Callinicos served as the Chief Financial Officer at Uber Technologies from 2013 to 2015. Prior to Uber, Callinicos was VP, Treasurer and Chief Accountant at Google from 2007 to 2013. He also ran Google's green energy investment portfolio. He held various roles at Microsoft from 1992 to 2007, where most recently he was CFO of the Platforms and Services Division. He also served as Microsoft's Treasurer from 2000-2004. Callinicos also sits on the boards of Baidu, PVH and Rubicon Global.
