Hyperdynamics' CEO Ray Leonard Addresses Council on Foreign Relations on African Oil Exploration Trends
HOUSTON, Feb. 20, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Ray Leonard, President and Chief Executive Officer of Hyperdynamics Corporation (NYSE: HDY) on Wednesday discussed new trends in oil exploration in Sub-Saharan Africa in an address to the Council on Foreign Relations in Washington, D.C.
Leonard's talk, entitled "Africa in a New Oil World: the Game has Changed, but How?" describes the developing shift in Africa during the 2000-2030 period from production in the low cost onshore and shallow water basins in Southwest Africa to high cost deep-water plays in Southwest Africa and the deep-water Transform Margin of northwest Africa and the developing oil province in the East African Rifts. The presentation also summarizes the overall world production trend shifting from predominantly low cost conventional oil production to a rapidly increasing share of high cost deep-water and unconventional production during the 2000-2030 period.
