Hylant Group Names New Health and Wellness Practice Leader

TOLEDO, Ohio, Dec. 6, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Managing health-related risk is more complex than simply teaching your workforce how to count calories in and calories out.  That's why Hylant Group, one of the largest privately owned insurance brokerage firms in the nation, has tapped wellness professional Jerid Baxter to lead its growing Health and Wellness practice.  In this role, Baxter will be responsible for designing and implementing programming and building the tools and resources that help Hylant Group clients curb rising healthcare costs by improving the overall health of their workforce.

Baxter brings more than 20 years of health and wellness expertise to the family-owned insurance brokerage.  Prior to joining Hylant Group, he developed and piloted innovative health and wellness programs at Healthways, Inc.  He also worked in a number of leadership positions at Harris HealthTrends, Inc., a Toledo-based provider of nationwide health management services.  Baxter has a bachelor's degree in health promotion in prevention/rehabilitation programs from Central Michigan University and a master's degree in public health with an emphasis in administration from Medical University of Ohio.
