CLEVELAND, Sept. 28, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Hyland's OnBase Solutions Expert Group has named Western Governors University its 2017 Peer-to-Peer Award winner. Western Governors University, supported by DoxTek, an OnBase Diamond Support Partner, was chosen by members of the OSEG user group as the winner for its innovative use of OnBase by Hyland to transform enrollment processes – automating tedious tasks and a previously manual enrollment procedure within its College of Nursing.
University employees once spent multiple hours focused on manual admissions processes, which consisted of copying student correspondences into spreadsheets and organizing them into different formats; uploading spreadsheets into third-party line-of-business systems and taking screen shots; comparing student information from multiple systems and marking required fields in Salesforce. Western Governors University leveraged OnBase to streamline the entire admissions process using electronic forms and workflow to automatically route information to third-party systems, including student information system Banner by Ellucian, to assist in enrollment decisions.
"Leveraging OnBase has saved our university over 300 hours per month in employee processing time for enrollment and admissions procedures within our College of Nursing," said Gerri Glines, IT and ECM administrator at Western Governors University. "We've completely transformed enrollment processes with e-forms and workflow, increasing our application and enrollment response timelines from two full working days to half a day."
Western Governors University has been a Hyland higher education customer for five years. The institution's OnBase solution is utilized to digitize information and automate processes in multiple departments across campus, including financial aid, transcripts, records, enrollment, admissions and field placement offices.
"This year's OSEG OnBase Innovation Award nominations were some of the most interesting and innovative uses of OnBase showing the breadth, depth and impact information management has for all departments and industries," said Danielle Simer, solution marketing manager at Hyland. "We congratulate Western Governors University for being selected as the 2017 OSEG Peer-to-Peer Award winner, and thank them for presenting the winning solution at CommunityLIVE in Las Vegas."
